Korean Cookie



Below picture is "Hangwa". This is a traditional Korean Cookie.


While the main ingredient of western confctioneries is often wheat flour, traditional Korean confectionery, Hangwa, is made of a variety of agricultural products. All kinds of edible plants such as fruits, stems and roots can be ingrdients in traditional Hangwa. Spices like cinamon and ginger add the spicy taste and flavor of Hangwa.. Cactus, green tea and wormwood are used not only for natural coloring but also for maintaining freshness and stimulatig the appetitie. Sugar, made from sugar cane, grain syrup, starch syrup or honey, is used for sweetening.
